Mongolia: Fourth Education Sector Reform Project

The ADB Fourth Education Sector Reform Project aims to improve the quality, access, efficiency, and effectiveness of Mongolia's12-year education system.

The main focus of the project was developed following extensive consultation with stakeholders from public, private, and nongovernmental sectors at central and local levels, including in remote locations, school visits, school surveys, and focus groups.

The project has four components:

• improved education planning, management, and budgeting
• strengthened Pre-Service Teacher Education
• improved quality, affordability, and levels of provision of textbooks and other teaching and learning materials, including enhanced innovation in the use of ICT in the classroom
• improved learning.

In addition, upgrades are being carried out to the facilities of Teacher Training Institutes out to improve conditions.
