The Academy caters for 900 11-16 year old students and 200 16-19 year old students.City College Norwich (CCN) was the Lead Sponsor for the Academy with the University of East Anglia (UEA) and Norfolk County Council as co-sponsors, and Norwich School as the education partner. During both the feasibility and the implementation phases of the project, Cambridge Education provided: - educational advice to develop an appropriate curriculum and raise standards in an area of Norwich with particular needs.
- overall project management
- facilities management
- HR/ Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment (TUPE) advice
Cambridge Education has provided these services to many other Academies and Building Schools for the Future schemes and brings extensive experience of the education sector, coupled with project management and ICT expertise from all education sectors. Our strength is education transformation and we bring not only experience of delivering Academies but also experience of working with large and diverse stakeholder groups on educational change programmes. This was the first Academy in Norfolk fully sponsored by City College. Our relationship with the college on the first Norwich Academy and experience in further education and diplomas supported a new approach to meet the needs of students and families in this part of Norwich. The consultation process was managed in close collaboration the project steering group. The relationship with the Local Authority was key, not only to the formal consultation but also during the process of TUPE. Our TUPE advisors worked closely with the Council’s HR department and the Academy’s senior leadership team to ensure the staff going through the process were informed, supported and fairly treated. Our previous experience of delivering another Norfolk County Council Academy allowed us to deliver this fast-tracked project both efficiently and quickly. Cambridge Education added value: - End-to-end service for all deliverables
- Wide experience of 14-19 requirements
- Integrated teams e.g. project management and communications
- Project management focused on education outcomes
- Clear understanding of ‘educational transformation’ – rethinking the way education and learning are delivered.
Our project manager was contracted by Norfolk County Council to provide ongoing support to the development of the new Academy buildings following successful opening of the Academy. |
