Spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development lies at the heart of the Ofsted framework. Promotion of SMSC is threaded through all aspects and is an important focus of the overall effectiveness judgement. SMSC covers all that the school does to provide a nurturing, supportive environment in which all thrive and through which all are able to participate in school life and in their communities in the complexity of the twenty first century. It includes the important issue of British values.

  • I attended your SMSC course in Holiday Inn, South Kensington, London in February this year. It was a brilliant, stimulating and very exciting course and I learnt a lot there, also many questions were answered, so want to say many thanks! I would highly recommend it to anyone who seeks to improve their SMSC.
  • Many of us were wondering how to do an SMSC audit and I used your idea of SMSC walk through the school to create a picture guide. The headteacher, staff and governors found it really helpful as it's very simple, full of pictures, children's comments and self-explanatory yet says a lot about the school and what we do.

  • There were so many good handouts - tempered well with time to work with colleagues and time for self reflection and a great deal of up to date information. Excellent clips of a drama lesson observation and a walk around a primary school. It was lovely to see and work with the consultant again. Thank you and well done.
